Freshly built Android 4.4.2 ROM based on Omnirom KitKat !The Team 'IconiaHD' is proud to propose you a new ROM for your Acer A200 tablet.
This small team is composed by :
HenrikE : Having already ported CM-10 for our A200
and created CM-10.2 from Cyanogenmod
Doume : Owner of an A200, liking developments, assistant on the project
This is built from source for the A200, so it's not a port of a rom for a different device.
It is built from the latest code in the Omnirom repositories (dated March 23rd 2014).
Why Omnirom, and not anymore Cyanogenmod ?
Google , through AOSP repository, does'nt maintain anymore Tegra 2 platforms, supporting not the 'neon' set on instructions
So, the Android native code does'nt contain anymore the possibility to handle machine having or not the 'neon' set
And probably, more and more, the applications will use this set of extended instructions
Cyanogenmod decides to follow the same way, since CM-10.2
CM-11 is'nt compilable for Tegra 2 'non-neon' platforms (like A200)
Only Omnirom, for now, has included compilation options in its repository, to still be able to support
machines like Acer A200
A200 is not an 'official' platform, for Omnirom !
our team did the porting without external help
But the resulting work is published on Github !
To flash this rom, it's necessary to have a recovery CWM or TWRP having Selinux capabilities
Otherwise the flash operation fails with a status 0 or status 7
You'll find here a version of CWM able to handle this rom and flash it :
CWM recovery for A200 use fastboot on your PC, to install it on your tablet :
sudo fastboot flash recovery recoveryCWM6045.img
Now, you can reboot in recovery mode, to flash the KitKat Rom....
First, don't forget to execute a 'Wipe Data/Factory reset'
Flash the KitKat Rom
Flash the Minimal Gapps
Do a 'wipe cache partition'
Flash the SuperSU zip file if you need it
And reboot System !
Be patient on first boot... Lot of work to do, before to obtain the 'Welcome' screen

Note: Don't flash any other kernel (Godmachine81 for example). This rom needs the "bcmdhd" wifi driver which is built into the included kernel. All older A200 kernels use the "bcm4239" driver and will not work.
