Here is a plugin which allows you to determine the transfer speed of the network. This works both with the Internet as well as with files from the LAN switching within the plugin with the green function key.
For the test on the local network, you can enter with the remote IP address of a file server and simulate from there to download a file of any size. The file is not actually stored on the Azbox, not even temporarily. This file should be called testfile, or it is a different name using the number keys on the remote control if the field with the file name has the focus.
Who has no file server, can the excellent Windows program hfs (http file server, using about 0.5 MB) which must be installed and can not do the job. After starting this program on a PC you pull with drag and drop any file into the large windows of the virtual file system, which is then released. Now rename within this window, right-click in testfile - done, original file remains unchanged. The IP address of the PC is at the top of the program interface of hfs. Which will now be entered using the remote control in the plugin, then navigate with the right arrow button to 'start test' and the OK button. Depending on the size of the file may take several seconds to the result, the activity appears hfs on the Windows PC in the program.
When testing the Internet's IP address is determined, which was assigned by the provider. The site also provides the geo-coordinates for the award of this provider IP address space normally. So then a map of the area of maps.google.com is retrieved (ca 100 kB). The transfer speed refers to the last step. Before you start the test, the zoom factor for the map (once 'left' by default).
